Default factory oem navigation

hey I have a 2007 v6 mustang with a 6 disc shaker 500 system. I want to get the factory touch screen navigation. Do you know where
I can buy one? Will I loose the shaker system if I change to the touch screen?

Welcome to MF. You can buy a factory unit from your dealership, but it would probably be expensive. And I doubt you would lose the shaker, as the nav is an option with the shaker stereo (correct me if i am wrong someone).

I see you are in Texas, if you are near Houston, check Tommy Vaughn Ford, they are an FRPP reseller and could probably quote you on a price for the nav.

I wouldn't get a factory nav unit.....there, I'm the first to say it. Aftermarket stuff is better quality a a lot cheaper. Check out the pioneer avic series and the alpine double din nav unit that pairs with the alpine blackbird. Both are extremely high quality products that will run you probably half of what a dealership will charge for the factory nav unit + installation.

Of course, if you're set on using only ford stuff, then I probably can't change your mind.

I look at it like this... yes you can get better for cheaper... but when it comes to head unit's.... I bet those people that changed out their factory radio in their 1965 mustang wished they would have kept it factory now that it is worth something

Do you have ABS? Yes it is compatible with the shaker 500, but not with the 1000. If you don't have ABS, you will get a speed error every time you fire up the nav unit. Trust me, been there done that. The nav unit will have to be programmed also. It's not just an order and install deal. I ordered mine from an ebay source that programmed it and guaranteed it and it worked, except for the speed error. Without the ABS, the car has no wheel sensors, and it spits out a code within the head unit. It's a simple press of the "ok" button and then it works. But the nav also seemed to be a few 100 feet off, meaning you were right on top of the turn when "Betty" was announcing the turn was approaching in 100 ft. Also, the unit I received was not the part number for a mustang, so it didn't fit PERFECTLY. It fit, and looked factory, but the face did not sit as deep and cause the surrounding dash to bulge a little bit. I sent mine back on the money back guarantee because of the speed error and the bulging face plate. I wanted it to function and look flawlessly for $1200.

The nav unit held 6 discs + the DVD nav disc. No you could not watch DVDs.

Very true......but an AM/FM radio is a tad different from a touch screen navigation unit....

I'm not pushing it on him, I was just putting a second option out there.

You can always just keep the OEM parts you pull off.

I just wish there were aftermarket navigation systems that sits flush into the dash like the oem one, and leave a gap between the dash and aftermarket navi.
