I have a K and N CAI and Gt take offs done in true duels. Idling it sounds like a GT. At high RPMs it still sounds good but you can tell it is a V6. The power increase was fantastic. After the intake($300) and exhaust ($275) get a tuner ($350) and with the remaining $600 buy gas and enjoy the car. Get where you can handle what you have. Plus the intake and exhaust will improve your gas mileage so you can enjoy it more.

I say you first get more money to get everything mentioned above all at once

Right.....I guess by putting in an X-charger it's still just a V6, until you press the gas petal!
Not everyone is into "going fast." I bought my V6 for the looks.....if I wanted to go fast I would have bought a GT500.

Go with the duals... and plan/save for a CAI and tune combo. As others have said.. it might be a good idea to get used to the car before you go with the CAI and tune. Also, if there is anything wrong with the car... it would be better to find that out before you tune the car... it will make getting dealer work on the car easier.

Since you said that performance > appearance, I would follow the advice of Silver Vert 06 and go with a tuner/intake/single muffler package deal. Having had two S197 4.0L's, I put a single GT take-off on the vert and went dual GT take-off & x-pipe on the coupe (since sold it). IMO, the duals were a waste of money. YES, they looked cool, but they did not increase the performance enough to justify the cost. For a N/A (naturally aspirated) 4.0L, duals are strictly an appearance mod versus a good single muffler (the stocker IS restrictive).

Congrats on the new car. If treated well it should last you a good long time. Also, if it has more than 20K miles on it, I would suggest changing the fuel filter. There are some helpful How-To's here to show you how it's done.

Tuner Cai and duals sounds good man. Go with SCT though not VMP IMO. GT takeoff rocker panels and louvers would look good as well. Save up more money though before you go spend it all and dont have any left for the gas you're going to need to put in it lol

Go with a tuner first if you plan to take it to the track with your buddies and whatnot like me when i was 16 ... if not, go with duals first and the rockers/louvers/ maybe a GT takeof rear bumper for those duals.

Side note: When you get you CAI, get it WITH your tuner as a package deal, you'll save a little money and the performance gains you'll receive will be higher that way with the combo of the two

VMP is a tuning shop. They don't make tuners, they sell SCT tuners. The reason I suggested VMP is because he offers a combo package with a cai, single gt muffler, and tune that is really cheap. http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...=200&parent=92.

That package is $599 and offers the best bang for your buck. He will have $900 left over to spend on other mods such as gears/t-lok or for appearance parts.
