Flash your car back to original BEFORE you go into the dealership for ANYTHING. It's not hard to throw your custom tune back on once you get the car back

Thats a good question and leads to one that I had about the ECU flash.... if the car gets a recall and you revert your car back to stock, take it in and have the deal apply the fix, then reflash it do you still have that fix or is it missing from your custom tune??

Yeah, I just didn't want to have to swap the CAI and stock box.

Depends on how much your dealer likes you and if he goes that way.

the airbag recall does not affect the ECU and there is no reason for the dealer to reflash your car. The module that is affected has nothing to do with your tune, and will only take the dealer about 15 minutes to do.

And I have to admit that my first thought was "I hope the dealer is a good looking female if you do get flashed"!

I had the recall done recently, told them not to reflash the ECU and they didn't.

Telling them to "not reflash" the PCM
is sometimes just asking for trouble.
And a post it note on the steering
wheel saying 'no PCM reflash, please'
is just a little overboard.

Your dealer can upgrade your cars ECU with new data from Ford ANYTIME you bring it in for work. Its always a good idea to tell them not to reflash it or change it back to stock.
