Before installing the left muffler,
1. I took my time measuring the location for the template and carefully taped it into place.
2. I took a sharpie and marked the bumper.
3. I set up my dremel tool and turned the speed down to 1 1/2 with a disk cutter.
4. I carefully cut the bumper leaving the mark from the sharpie.
5. I switched the dremel bit to a sanding drum with the speed set at 2.
6. I slowly used the sander to finish the job until the sharpie marking was gone.
NOTE: It is not a race, take your time and it will look good. even taking your time, the bumper mod will only take about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes tops. I reduced the size of the pic, so the cut doesn't look as smooth as it really is, but when you are standing behind the car, it looks as smooth as the other side. Non Mustang owners can not tell that it is not factory!

Just wondering, did you use a sharpie marker because it was the only writing utensil you had that would show up on the bumper, or because it would remain after the dremeling and you could sand right up to the line creating perfectly the initial shape of the stencil?

Exactly as you stated about sanding with the dremel sanding drum until the mark disappeared. After, you can get some of the plastic door edge guard the same color of your car and put it around the cut section if you desire, but I didn't because no one can really tell unless they get all up on my car and by that time, I am chasing their nosy behinds away.

i took mine to the muffler shop. He did it..All he did was cut a little thin slice of the exisitng cut out and use that as a template for the new one

I think the Borla and FRPP dual exhaust kits come with caps you can use for the exhaust exit holes on the rear bumper. I remember thinking that would help cover up any minor mistakes someone made. However, those caps where definitely black, so I guess it wouldn't look that good on certain paint schemes.

You could probably get those caps from whoever sells their exhaust setups with the caps. Maybe if you had those, you wouldn't be so worried about making a mistake.

Duals are all about sound...and looks. A Mustang with a single exhaust looks just plain stupid...I have no idea what Ford was thinking...

If power is what you want, get a $25 GT takeoff muffler. That WILL free up some HP as the stocker is really restrictive. That is a GREAT mod for the money.

If you are after sound/looks, then plop down $500-1000 and get you a nice set of duals. FWIW, the FRPP come with these little trim pieces that make the stock bumper and duals look totally factory. However, you have to get the kit to get them as they dont sell them separately. The FRPP is a good kit for the money and looks great with the stock bumper.

well the good thing about this kit is that it comes with gt take off mufflers so i kill two birds with one stone right?

Wow, I actually found a pic of the rear of my car! You can see here the little "valance" parts that come with the FRPP kit. It really trims out the exhaust and makes it look factory.

Also, these are not GTB's or GTA's, as mine were swapped out for a pair of rolled tip / chrome tip GT manual takeoffs. They looks factory IMO with this car as it ties int he chrome and black with the wheels and side skirts.

Seems now like it is too good to be true. Newtakeoff wants almost $100 to ship which brings the expense to nearly $400. The american muscle pypes kit is about $420 shipped and comes with what seems like nicer mufflers (pypes streetpro) than the GT mufflers that come with the newtakeoff kit. The streetpro mufflers are being sold on AM for about 140 so they must be better right?
