Default de-badging

alright so i've decided to de-badge my pony's on the sides as well as the mustang stripe...

I searched the forums and found a post that said I should be okay with removing the stripe and not having a discoloration where the stripe was. (20,000 miles garaged every night).

but I can't find a straight answer on whether or not the pony badge on both sides is 3m taped or drilled in?

does anyone know?

I am pretty sure they are 3m taped on. I don't have any but a friend of mine put his one with just the 3m tape.

I have a 2007 V-6 with the Pony Package. I had to replace one of the tri-bar pony fender badges. They are held on with 3-M tape. However, there are two alignment holes drilled in the fender that correspond with the mounting tabs on the badge. If you remove the badge you will have two holes in each of the fenders that will need to be filled and painted. Might be an expensive endeavor.

Some are just taped others have the alignment holes. If you want them off really bad it might cost you a pretty penny if they have the alignment holes.

Also if they are just 3M taped on and you take them off message me Ill buy them from you if you want to get rid of them.

3M Acrylic Emblem Tape and TWO alignment pins attach the emblems.
If its a S197 and it has a badge from the factory, then there are alignment holes and pins. No doubt about it.

no offense but why would you pay extra for the pony package and take the badges off?

you could cover the running pony badge alignment holes with the "Powered By Ford" badge. i know ur trying to de-badge but the one i mentioned is very clean looking and a bit smaller in size.

I've had the pony package appearance (grill and badges) on for two years and it's been worth it since I got the car. But after seeing some mustangs without the badge I have grown to like it and simply want the change.

Yea, I think it might be better to find something smaller to cover it up rather then pay the money to fill it in and have them paint it.
