Default Problem with starter... I think

This morning I went out to fire up my 07' v6 and nothing happened. My sister used the car last night and I think she left the door open and killed the battery. I put a charger on it and waited a while. When I try to start it now it makes a clicking noise but doesn't turn over. The clicking noise clicks about every second. Not like the rapid clicking of a dead battery, it clicks about once per second but simply won't turn over. I have also tried starting it with a jump charge and have gotten the same result. I have checked all of the fuses and am completely lost. Has anyone else had this issue or have any idea how to fix it? Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you need to replace the battery.

My money is on the Shaker 500 radio draining your battery down. You SHOULD be able to jump start it with good cables from another car that's running. Make sure you have good connections.

The door light will go out after 15 minutes regardless of the door being open.
You have bigger troubles than just leaving the door open.
Go appologize to your sister for giving her the busisness for
leaving the door open and killing your battery which she didnt do.

I took the battery out and had it load tested at an auto parts store. The battery was bad and when I put a new battery in the car started right up. I noticed in the previous couple days that the car hadn't been starting as easily as usual. I have a feeling that the battery hadn't been holding a charge and just finally kicked the bucket. Regardless, the problem is fixed for now and I assume for good unless there is something causing the battery to discharge.
