Default Performace Chip Question

hey guys
i was wondering what would be the best performance chip for a 08 mustang v6, that would give some power but also how safe are they, on automatics to be more specific. Theres a couple brands i've just kinda looked at but im not sure what people have good experience with.

our cars don't really do performance chips. you upload custom 'tunes' to your car's computer. these tunes change the way your car runs and such. they work best in combination with aftermarket parts such as cold air intakes and super chargers. you can really see a difference before and after a tune + CAI combo. I would recommend Evolution Performance of Pennsylvania, they were great to work with. most people go with bamachips tuning though

Chips are for eating. Our Stangs are retuned. Check out the Bamachips and Brenspeed websites and do your homework. A CAI & tune combo are safe and the biggest bang-for -the-buck short of going FI.

Another benefit of uploading an aftermarket tune via handheld tuner is that it'll remove the drive-by-wire throttle lag. Consider buying a quality cold air intake (CAI) in combination with the tuner.

The handheld will also allow you to adjust certain user-accessible parameters such as gears, tire sizes, rev limiter, etc.. The people that write the tunes ( i.e. Brenspeed, Bama) will adjust those parameters critical to performance which are NOT user adjustable.

Search DiabloSport Predator and see what a tuner can do for you.
The days of the tuner chip have long gone by the wayside.

I love my Bamachips 93 Tune. It wakes up the car and it has better performance gains. C&L + SCT3 ftw.

performance chips for the mustang are unessesary. Chips are designed to piggyback onto an ECU because the dyno operator can't reprogram it due to security measures taken by the manufacturer.

The Mustang ECU is HACKED this means we can reprogram it. While a chip will still work for the mustang 50% of them are inferior to tuning due to lack of sales and interest because tuning is superior when you can hack the ECU. The other 50% are scams because the chip market is so thin for the Mustang.

Yea, 'chips' sold on eBay for the 05-09 S197s are simple
$0.19 resistors that fool the PCM into thinking the incoming
air charge is cooler than it is causing the PCM to richen up
the fuel mixture. SCAMS all of them if it involves a 'chip'.
