We've been discussing it here:

https://mustangforums.com/m_591012/tm.htm

Looks to be about 7-8 HP w/o a tune.

The K&N guys say it will not trip the CEL.

I would not call that crap. The others (such as MMR) are quoting 8-15 HP. That would depend on whether you have a tune or not.

K&N's estimate is without a tune. Actually, the way K&N are advertising gains is much more fair. Why would anyone advertise horsepower that can only be gained with an additional product?

Man, what don't you understand?? The other companies advertise the "max" HP gain, some both (ie: 8-15). To get the full gain, you'd need a tune.

I'd hate to sell intakes, advertise 18HP, then have a customer come back and tell me they only got 8. K&N is just taking the safe, CYA path...

Overall, and intake is an intake. They all do pretty much the same thing, and any HP variance between them will be negligible. I'm going with the K&N because of their firm response that it won't set off the CEL.

Anyone have any quality issues with K&N? We have an intake on my wife's Vibe and it's pretty nice. But, I just talked my mechanic that has one on his truck... says his intake keeps falling off. He said K&N used to be great, but they've been lacking in recent years. Dunno... most people I talk to swear by 'em.

I have a K&N FIPK on my 2002 Avalanche, and it's great. Not a single issue with it.

I don't think anyone has received the 02 V6 Mustang kit yet... mine's backordered.

My K&N is in transit... was hoping it would arrive by this weekend so I could do it at the same time as my magnaflows and wiring up my GT fog lights. Looks like it wont arrive till next week tho, but i'll write up a review of it after we install.
