Default Lower Grill- Pony package?? Help

I have been looking for a lower grill to match my top grill on on my 2006 v6. It is a solid black ABS plastic grill. I found this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...Q5fAccessories

It says on the item description that it will only fit v6 pony package mustangs and when I asked the guy he said it was only for v6 pony package. My question is do the two v6's have different size lower grills? Thanks

the base V6 and the Pony package both have the same front bumper cover, that means that the Pony package lower grille will fit the base V6, so I don't see why it won't fit.

I know its not the same thing but if want to get a full lower billet grill then could get one from AM or Mr. Bodykit.

They have different part numbers for the pp and non-pp lower grilles. But I think that is for style not fitment. As quoted they both use the same bumper, so the lower grille shouldn't matter.

I wasn't going to say anything because I didn't feel I had enough info, but after reading these posts I have to tell you that they are different grilles somehow. I'm not sure on the difference but I have heard of people trying to put a PP grill in their non-PP and have it not work.

I have a Pony Package but I'm not sure if there is a difference between the basic V6 and mine. See if the lower grille in this picture helps. You could contact Ford parts and ask them.

the base model and the Pony package both have the same front bumper cover, being that they have the same cover means that the lower grilles will interchange
bumper cover part # 5R3Z-17D957-AAA fits base and Pony
lower grille part# 7R3Z-17K945-AB for base model
lower grille part# 6R3Z-17K945-AA for Pony package

The openings in the bumper are the same for PP and non PP. The confusion is when adding a billet insert, the Pony's have vertical like grilles on the ends, the others have the honeycomb.

I had the vertical grille like that and switched to the honey comb. I wouldn't pay $52 for it.

I know for a fact that the base model lower grill fits on a pony package mustang. I have the pony package and mine fell off somehow. I have a good relationship with my dealer and had them replace it under warranty. When I got the car back it had the honeycomb style base model grill. I didn't complain because I actually think it looks better.
