Default Supercharger question

Has anyone had any expierence with the vortech supercharger, what do you think about it. Also, what is the difficulty level of installing it myself. Not set on it, but I can get it intercooled for 4,200 or pay 4,200 for the x-charger. I have rather good knowledge of vehicles, done my own timing, water pumps, engine removal, differential removal. Any help is appreciated.

yes, here. Had mine for over 2 years now, first at 10 psi now at 12 psi. I built my air-air intercooler, but it was well worth getting the intercooled setup, especially here in hot Texas.
Installation was quite easy per instructions. I have the SQ2 and tapped the timing cover for the drain hose as instructed; not as big a deal as people made it out to be.

You can do the installation. Nothing is difficult. And I'd be happy to answer any specific questions.
Here's a couple pics of my setup, which not a typical Vortech setup though.

But the real benefit, once you're done with it, you WILL LIKE IT!!!

BTW, I'd sell my setup for $4100 shipped, with intercooler, piping, injectors, etc, everything you need, except the hand-help programmer and tune. The setup is much more robust than a normal vortech kit, with a larger BOV, etc. I can post up more info if interested. BTW, there is one guy interested already, so he has first dibs.

You're selling your Vortech? What do you have planned now, if I may ask?

Ever since the Texas Mustang cruise, he has been jealous of my x-charger, so I wouldn't be suprised if he went with an intercooled X.

*haha just razzing ya Mike* :P

Yeah Matt, I know .

Toying around with a different setup, one that would not make use of my supercharger. And only if I sell it for a decent price.

The Vortech setup is just fine like it is, I've been very happy with it, so it might stay. It has treated me very well.

I wouldn't go to a X-charger setup, because then I'd be as slow as Matt.. ..razzin ya back :-)

Just wait till I get my intercooler!!!! Weeeeee!

obxdude, the vortech has a really good look to it, and alot of power. If you are capable of pulling an engine and putting it back in, you can install a supercharger.

air to water will get you cooler temps, thus better performance.
