Default Need a source for headlight switch connector contacts

anybody know a source or make model of the headlight switch wire harness contacts? The FOMOCO dealer said they cannot identify the connector pins but could order an entire harness geesh what an insane system.

According to the workshop manual, it shows replacing pins and gives a part # as well.
The stealership is not worth sheit when wanting something.
pins equals dollar apiece.
harnesses equals big buckolas.

Default This what I am doing

I am building a harness to wire my fog lamps and I want to remove two contacts from the headlight switch connector and replace them with the two wires I will run.

I could splice or cut into the existing wires but with a military aerospace background I want to do it the right way and properly terminate the wires I have provided with proper new connectors and just de-pin the existing wires and not use them at all.

Just cut, strip, splice andsolder. Two stage heatshrink.
If you wanted to do it the right way, you would
have the dealership program the SJB with PP fog
logic and use the OEM fuse, relay and harness...

You have 'provided' what again?

Default What I meant by Provided

I was referring to the two wires I ran, one for lighting the LED and one for sending the ground from the switch out to the relay for the fog lamps.

I asked at my dealership about adding the SJB function for the Foglamps....Service advisor stared with a blank look said he didn't know of anyway to do it. I know the dash wiring from the BEC toward the switch is there already. If terminals were readily available I could add the BEC toward the foglamps wiring at the bottom of the BEC.

Splicing is never a preferred method even if you solder and heat shrink with the adhesive lined tubing

THAT SEEMS TO BE A BIG IF!!!!!

Nobody here or at the dealership will share the connectors part numbers......Guess its a junkyard run to get an example and the local electronics supply

I don't know if I followed what you are trying to do correctly or not, but let me see if this will help you any. If you are trying to add some lights to work in conjunction with the fog lights that you already have in your Pony Package, then there may be an easier way to do it. I have read on other forums (haven't seen this myself cause I haven't looked) that the wiring harness on the Pony Pkg has two connectors at the fog lamps. For some reason they made the connectors with an extension/redundant connector built in. All you would have to do is create a plug to match up with that connector and your lights should light up when the fogs light up. That should work fine with your idea of military precession I presume. Hope that helps, if not, forget everything I just said.

Default Thanx for the input but this is NON Pony Package V6 Coupe with

a GT front installed and GT Spoiler. I also installed take off front and rear swaybars from the GT. Its my wifes replacement for her car that was totalled while parked. She is only 4 ft 7 inch so the taller GT spoiler lets her see the trunk and know where the end of the car is. She had a 98 Mustang and it had the taller spoiler and she never backed into anything with it. My daughter got that one and the wife has wanted a Mustang so the other car getting totalled was not a big loss to her she missed "her" Mustang.

The plain V6 Coupe does not have a the foglamp wiring in the harness for the front from under the BEC to the foglamps. I wish it did as the rest of the wiring toward the interior is in place. My dealer claims they don't know how to customize the SJB programming to enable the foglamp function. I will have to wire it up and have run 2 wires into the interior to where the GT Fog lamp switch mounts. I want to put two pins on those wires and insert them into the headlamp switch connector shell WITHOUT cutting into the existing wires that are there.

Nice ride did the pony package come with the silver 17 inch wheels?? I have a set in the basement for spring till then the 16 inch ones will be on for the winter.
