Default This is embarrassing..

I bought a Roush retro style shifter **** and for the life of me do not understand how it goes on. It only has 3 parts to it, I feel like I'm senseless and missing something obvious. I've installed driveshafts, cold air instakes, etc, but I can't figure out a shifter ****

Help is appreciated before I lose my mind

If this were a "more power" thread, the V8 guys would flood in here to tell you the answer is to buy an automatic.

Don't worry about it man, it can be tricky to get perfect and its stupid of Roush not to send instructions. I used to have this **** and finally found this process got it straight and tightened perfectly:
1. Take out stock **** and place plastic Roush piece in the boot, with the cylinder pointing up.
2. Push the plastic down and screw the bolt on a little bit, maybe a little more than a 1/4"
3. Screw the ball on top of the shifter threading that is now above the **** and tighten the ball and bolt together. When they're perfectly tight the ball should end up straight.
4. You might have to play with Step 2 to get it to end perfectly, just play around a bit, you're pretty handy lol

Thanks, I finally figured it out after looking at a picture of one in-car. I too thought it was odd I didn't at least get a note mentioning how to line everything up.

Ah well, another successful mini-mod.

Why, when manuals are so much fun!
I have 4 other cars that are autos, so having one manual for recreation is enjoyable.

Hah yes that's actually the picture I looked at as a reference.

And I don't think I will ever want to buy an automatic unless something restrains me, like a bad left leg or right arm. Nothing against them, they win drags more often then not, but with a manual you feel like you're actually driving the car, not the other way around.
