Default Trac-Lock concerns

Hi All
I have a 2005 v6. I would like to know if anyone have intalled a trak-lock (positraction) in their V6. If so what part # and any problems if I have Traction Control

If my understanding is correct, if you have the traction control (and ABS) option you won't need a t-lok.

Look here for a t-lok

I don't think traction control is the same of positraction

Feature: All-speed traction control
When wheel slip is detected, this traction control system uses either or both the brakes and electronic engine controls to reduce torque to the driving wheels until traction is restored.

Benefit
Traction is maintained on slippery road conditions. This system provides traction assist at all speeds and is superior traction control systems that operate only at low speeds.

You're right... they're not the same. But, I'm not sure there's any benefit to adding a t-lok to traction control... anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I have the t-lok on order (but it's on backorder)...

I hate the traction control. I'm sure it would be nice in the winter, over snow and ice, but I have full intentions of garaging my car all winter.

I know how hard I can hit the gas before the wheels spin, and sometimes, you just want your wheels to spin.

Nothing p*sses me off more than starting to fishtail around a corner (intentionally) and that damn traction control applying breaks to one (or both) of the back wheels and slowing your accelleration.

traction control only cuts the power to the drive wheel if it loses traction....it retards the timing, cuts the fuel, then applies the brakes, if necessary.

Traction lock will lock both rear wheels so that they both drive instead of just one. The differential no longer functions while it is locked but who cares LOL, you are spinning anyway and you can lay a double patch. SWEET!

MY car has both from the factory and I shut off the traction control with my tuner because I hate it LOL.

FINALLY got my T-Loc, been on order for a while. I got it off V6Stuff.com, I will have it installed sometime in Aug. Would have liked to have had it done with my gears....Oh well, the price we pay I suppose.
