Default Sideskirts gone... Now the silicone!

Hey guys, my sideskirts have been on pretty much the life of the car about 5 years. I took them off cause they were beat up and I have GT ones to replace them. Now I have a problem, there is silicone on where it was attached in the front and back of the skirt about 2 inches in diameter and about the size of a tennis ball and its pretty thick. What would be the best way to get this off without messing the paint up or cutting my fingers off? Thanks

Silicone is like the rubber cement you use to play with when you were a kid. Just keep rubbing it back and forth and it will eventually peel off like dead skin. Don't use any stuff on it that could damage your paint. A little elbow grease and you'll be good.
