Default Stroker kit?

Hey guys I've been looking into maybe a stroker kit but have no idea how it works, exactly what does it replace and how does it increase the motor from 4.0 to 4.3L? Also is it worth it? The only kit I can manage to find is this one:

If you have the money for that why not just get a supercharger? Will likely get you more hp/tq for your money. I "think" (don't quote me) the 4.0 is already pretty thin.

I have heard that the cylinder walls are pretty thin so there isn't much boring to be done.

Would it sound better? yes. Would it gain performance you can feel? yes. however, 30 lbs/hp for ~$4k? I wouldn't. Buy a vortech supercharger for $3400 (or less if its a good deal) and get your self 85hp at the crank. That will bring you up to NewEdge HP levels. Add a HI PO pulley and an intercooler and you can go even higher. 330 if I remember correctly.

Just a thought

I don't know for sure but I would bet that most of the increase in displacement is done by using shorter rods as opposed to boring the engine block.

Yea I am aware of that but I'm talking if I wanted to build the motor before FI.

If you want a built motor for FI go here:

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/p...dInternals.pdf

If I had the money I would love to have their heads and cams. Just going stage 2 heads gives you a great tq curve. starts peaking earlier and holds it through the whole range. No it's not a massive gain like a SC but for NA (until you FI) its a nasty low end tq monster for an NA v6.

It appears you can buy performance cranks from them
I would go that route with newer heads

It says
"gained 25 peak RWHP and 19 ft-lbs RWTQ with non-peak gains of up to 50 RWHP and 80 ft-lbs
RWTQ" what does it mean by non-peak gains?
