Has anyone experienced problems with their 2005 auto shifter binding in very hot weather? Mine started doing this in late July with the rubber pieces that slide back and forth with the shifter binding and finally breaking. Dealer says a new design was to start shipping from the vender on 8/5/05 and he will call when the replacement shifter assembly arrives. I haven't seen this problem discussed in any of the forums so far so I was wondering about this. Seems if Ford redesigned the shifter it has to be because others have experienced this problem. I live in Darlington, SC where it's plenty hot in the summer but I know there are places around the country that are hotter. Thanks in advance for your imput.
