Default For those who have the C&L intake and tune

I just received my C&L intake today and my tuner from american muscle is on its way. With the tuner i got 3 custom bama tunes and tunes for life. The tunes i asked for were the 87 street, 87 performance, 91 race. since i live in canada i got real screwed on the pricing... couldnt get any combo deals cause mine is a 2010

i was just wondering if anyone had the C&L setup and how much of a difference there was and how much you like this system. and what tunes are you guys running?

cant wait to throw it on

I'm running a C&L with a 91 race tune. The throttle response was the biggest difference for me, but yes, it made a huge difference. IMO its by far the best looking intake.

I use Brenspeed 87 tune + C&L most of the time since I do a bunch of highway miles and it's still a nice improvement over stock. Some weekends I load the 91 tune and roll. FYI I have put over 100K miles on the car since installing this setup and no issues....

In order to appreciate all 3 tunes, here's what I suggest to everyone:
  1. Immediately BEFORE you load the new tune and install the CAI, take the Stang out and do some spirited hole shots and some rolling runs.
  2. Install the CAI and load the 87 custom tune and repeat the runs as closely as possible as you did in #1.
  3. Load the 89 (or 91) tune and repeat the runs.
  4. Load the last tune and repeat the runs.
You'll be able to compare all 3 tunes on an incremental level. I find that my 87 custom tune has the biggest "change" as opposed to the difference between the custom 87 and 89 and between the 89 and 93. I find my Brenspeed 93 tune pulls harder in the upper RPM range which is not where I typically run. After experimenting with all 3 of my custom tunes, I have settled on the 89 for 99.9% of my driving.

"street tune" is the same as the old "torq tune", correct? if so, for future customers, i recommend the 87 perf, 91/93 street, 91/93 race. i just believe that if your going to be installing intakes and tunes, you might as well try to get the best performance options. the 87 perf is just to have for whatever reason but ur likely to stick with your high octane tunes 90% of the time.
