Default Longtubes

Found another longtube header company for our 4.0s Stainless works headers, I believe its stainlessworks.com they seem to be pretty good quality from what I've read. Anybody have any experience? One thing is that they are pricey

Stainless works seems to be pricey with everything, their new exhaust for the 5.0 for the whole kit is around $2000.

Im looking for a good set of LTs, do you ahve any suggestions for who might be a good route to go with a set of long tubes? Not really looking to spend 1500 like stainless works full system. Im fine with just a set of headers and buying some highflow cats my self and setting it up myself. Just looking for a set of decent LTs

Smile stainless works headers

I've had a set of their V6 long tubes on my 2007 Mustang now for about two years and their performance has been flawless. Worth every dollar spent.

So the pacesetters are actually decent, I had figured they werent worth it bc they were so cheap. No fitment issues? Do you have the black paint or the ceramic coated?

Im up for considering any options for LT's, just looking for something quality

What if I was to purchase the headers alone from stainless works, about $740. Then if I was to pick up a set of hi flow cats from AM along with some O2 extensions. If I was to install the headers then drive it to an exhaust shop and hand them the cats and had them fab up the rest to my current cat back, how much would that cost me?

Default stainless works long tubes

As I mentioned in a post above a short while ago, I've had a set of Stainless Works' long tubes on my 07 V6 now for almost 3 years. They're flawless! Also, lately got rid of some header mufflers that was driving the world nuts with the noise, and also put on and took off a Roush performance exhaust system that incorporates only resonators in the mid-pipes. Avoid the system on a V6 at all cost. God what a waste of money. The noise on a V6 is the most obnoxious thing I've ever heard. I took the car to a local custom exhaust shop and had them install a couple of Stainless Work's slim line cats ($300 a piece) into some custom bent pipes then into a V6 Ford Racing system with Bullit mufflers. Beautiful sound, incredible low end torque, and great overall performance. Didn't have an X or H pipe installed because a V6 doesn't need it nor does it gain anything from the installation. Those big 3 1/2 inch tips look awesome sticking out the back of the car. Take care, Jack

jwilhelm- thanks for the props man.

When you compare ours vs pacesetter or other less expensive brands you are comparing apples and oranges.
Ours are made of 304 stainless all the way through and come with the high flow cats and lead pipes to connect to the car along with all clamps and O2 extensions.

Less expensive brands are made of mild steel or 409 "stainless" and then painted or coated and have thinner flanges which tend to warp or crack over time. These will rot because they are made from cheaper materials. Also most of those systems are mass produced, usually over seas.

Also when you piece things together to try and save money like buying our headers then some one elses cats, then some elses lead pipes it is usually more of a headache and long term cost because they weren't made to work together.

This isn't a rant so don't take it that way, just something to consider. Plus i am here to call or email with any questions. Info is in my signature. I'm here 7:30 am til 4:30 pm eastern standard time!
