Default selling a car: stock vs. modified

well, I might be selling my mustang around christmas. I will try to sell it as is first. if i decide trade it in instead, will it have a higher resale value if I revert it back to stock? I would guess so.

thanks all,

Not particularly higher, but if you sell off any major mods and put the car back to stock, you will make more money.

If you trade it in, the dealer will probably give you jack squat for the mods. In that case you might as well strip it and sell the mods separate.

It all depends on the dealer, I just traded in my 6er with x-charger and they gave me a fair price since it had the x-charger.

unless your mods are super special, like your name is Carol or Jack or Chip, mods do not add to resale value and in many cases can subtract from it. Return it to stock and sell the mods on here.

Go to your local craigslist car and truck section or a craigslist around your area type in mustang and just browse the ads and see what people are selling them for in your area and look and see if the modded ones are selling for much more than stock ones
