Shelby Cobra
I went to the Ford stealer today to pick up my work vehicle (Ford Explorer)from getting some service work done. While I was there I was looking at a Shelby Cobra with the 5.4 under the hood. Had a really nice CAI from the factory, What I couldn't believe is how HUGE that motor looks under the hood. That has to be the largest set of heads I have ever seen.
Everything on that car that runs the cost up is mechanical. The car has the same interior, options, and comforts as my 4.0 V-6 Only with a $53,000 window sticker. I dont see that much price difference for the same car just with more power. I really thought their would be ........ well More!

Car prices are only going to skyrocket from now on, you are paying for the name Shelby, a 4v 5.4 motor that has a supercharger attached to it, a t6060 tranny, a better suspension, better brakes, different body styling, when I was searching for my first mustang the one I wanted had just sold, so the dealer let me drive the 500 they had on the lot and I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time, wish I had 33k at the time, the only bad thing about that one it was a auto.

There is a lot more to it - I had the chance to take a 2010 for a drive before they hit the showrooms. Definitely has all of 500 horses at your right foot! It was a great car to drive and more than just the same car with more power. Different feel to it from mine with all of the mods.
And by the way, it is not a Shelby "cobra". There isn't a cobra right now - I think that Ford SVO/SVT owns the Cobra name. There is a price premium you pay though for the fact that the GT500 has the "Shelby" name on it. Ford could probably sell it for less if they didn't have the Shelby name on it, but it wouldn't attract nearly as much attention without the Shelby connection.
