Default Active Anti-Theft

Is it worth it to pay extra for the active anti-theft or can I go without it?

If you go with it, many insurance companies will give you a small discount on your insurance rate. It will pay for itself and then some over a couple of years.

Anti-theft is one one of those iffy things to get, depending on your area if its worth it or not, just the little red light that blinks in my car stopped someone from breaking in mine, but they nailed everyone elses in the neighborhood, your insurance company might offer you a few extra dollars off your premium so to you that might be worth it, its your call however.

I agree with Dude, a flashing LED on the dash will deeter some thiefs, but if they want it they will get it.

You already have the PATS red flashing light.
That should be deterrence enough.
Why pay more for the carpy OEM "anti-theft" system?
It goes off when ever it wants and is a PITA.
The PATS system makes your stang unstartable
(but not tow-able).
The theif has to be smart enough to pass by
protected un-stealable cars to easier targets.
Smart theif? Do they exist?

My 2007 Job 2 Active Anti Theft Option 14A, suggested retail $325, has never gone off unexpectedly.

The PATS LED is buried deep inside the cluster shroud when outside the car. It doesn't exactly serve much deterrence duty.

Hi guys, I'm new on this forum. I bought a 2007 Stang V6 in Spain. I think I don't have the Anti Theft System installed (as I don't see these little sensors in the domelight installation). Can someone explain what this PATS LED light actually mean and how it works? All answers highly appreciated.

Mine had it from the factory... I procured the car used two years ago... the active anti-theft has scared the crap outta me on more than one occaision... when I went to jack the car up without de-activating it....

Other then that... it's never gone off.
