I didn't think that ANY of the CAI's for the S197's; V6 and GT's alike: required any cutting. What CAI's are you looking at? Have you checked the CAI & tune combos on the AM website for their install info?

I know mine didn't require any cutting to get it in there, its a extremely simple bolt on part.

I have an Airaid CAI that is not metal/aluminum and does not require any cutting. It's an easy bolt on product.
FYI, a stand alone CAI, won't get you much performance gain, maybe (3-5) HP. The performance is mainly from a Custom Tune. The stock intake on the 2010's are better than the 05-09 models. Have you considered a tuner/custom tune from Bama or Brenspeed?

yeah.... that's why I'm searching for a CAI.... because I want to buy an SCT tuner.... or maybe a Diablosport... don't know which... but my main concern was the cutting part.

I was looking at the K&N CAI, which is supposed to bring about 7.4HP alone... (they say)

Thanks everybody... any more info or recommendation will be more than welcome. :P

All CAI's are very similar and won't make much difference in performance. I would recommend the SCT over the Diablosport, due to AM and Brenspeed both being able to provide custom tunes on the SCT's. Just my 2cents.

I have a diablosport, but I would recommend the sct tuner since you can get free tunes.

i have a plastic Airaid and love it. dont get much power out of stand alone CAI but get a sick sound. Airaid makes the Roush intakes last time i checked so they are reputable. i have a diablosport but like many other i would recomend an SCT. Only go the diablo bc it was CHEAP!

I'm going with the airaid, checked it out, it is the best choice here.

Now, I was considering the Diablo ONLY because I can purchase it in a store here for $90 less. But, SCT wins... I'll wait for it :P Thanks

Yes, Airaid is the company that makes the Roush CAI. Airaid is less expensive due to not having the Roush logo on it. =-)
Another good thing about the Airaid is it does NOT require a tune and if you put your car back to stock settings, you don't have to put the stock airbox back on. Without a custom tune, the performance gain is minimal.
