Default Exhaust

Im eventually going to get dual exhaust but right now there are other mods I want first. I just want to get rid of the wimpy V6 muffler asap. When I get duals I'm going to get the Pypes Pype Bombs. Id rather just buy the set and put one of them on while I wait for duals. My worry is since its some what of a staright pipe it would sound bad. Anyone have any idea if it will sound bad? Im just looking to save money lol

Check youtube. I can get lost on youtube for hours listening to exhaust vids. "Straight pipes" typically do not sound good on our cars.

I've heard them as duals and they sound great, but I was talking about just putting one of them on while I wait to lay down the cash for the dual setup.

I would be patient until I could get duals put on if I were you.
Dual exhaust was one of my first mods. I hated looking at the wimpy stock muffler.

Well the whole idea is to get rid of the stock muffler. I just dont have cash to pay for the whole dual setup. I want to get the CAI/Tune before that. Being 16 doesnt bring lots of money lol

I have a suggestion, check your local Craigslist and see if anyone is selling a stock GT exhaust. Usually, the GT owners will upgrade and keep their stock exhausts. You could probably find one fairly inexpensive and get a better tone. Make sure it's from a 5 speed GT, I've read the tone is better.

I have the Pypes Street pro single exhaust. You can hear it in the video compilation link below on my signature. Keep in mind, I have a CAI and custom tune, which makes the tone sound a bit better as well!

Good luck!

+1 To what everyone pretty much said. You're better off saving for the whole setup and doing it all at once rather than having to do it in steps. Find some GT Takeoffs, I got a set locally from a buddy for about $40. Later upgraded to GTBs. I went the dual exhaust kit from Ninosport. Perfect for what I needed

Save up and do it right the first time. NewTakeOff.com has a popular dual exhaust kit, that lots of us have gone with. Very reasonbly priced and is a complete kit, very easy to do yourself in the driveway!
