Snow tires will help. I have Michelin x-ice 2 but that ran me about $800 for tires and mounting. I put them on my stock wheels.

If you find your throttle touchy and you are stopped, you can throw your car into gear to help you start without accidentally spinning your wheels. I found 3rd gear to be good for that. However you will need to know how to shift your auto so if you don't, you will want to start learning beforehand.

Shifting the auto isn't too hard at all, downshifts are pretty ugly unless I give it a little throttle blip, but starting in 2nd or 3rd helps immensely when I have my pirellis in deep snow (1-3in). Anything more than 4inches and I start to worry about getting stuck somewhere lol.

Default Colorado Winters

I've been driving in these winters for 50 years now. Learned when there were only rear wheel drive cars. The advice is to get good dedicated snow tires, and never make any movements fast (breaking, steering etc.) while driving on ice. The roads aren't too slippery when it is snowing but as soon as it stops they can get pretty hairy. Good luck. Park your Mustang when the roads get really bad.

I have not had any problems unless it is a real sheet of ice, and in that case every car has a problem even 4x4s. I live in Fort collins and drive mine everyday.

Same here. It's no biggie. Snow predicted before rush hour this afternoon.
Having said that, if it snows a foot tonight I'll drive the truck tomorrow.

Update:
8" of snow last night.
Drove the Ram 4x4 to work today.
Pony is in the barn.
Saw a stuck Trans Am and a stuck Camaro on the way to work.

Lol yeah anything over 3-4" unshoveled on the road, and it doesn't matter what snow tires you have on these cars... You're fenders will be functioning as snow scoops.

I've driven in unplowed 4" with my Eagle GTs and no weight in the back (but like 5 passengers) no problem.

Dude how did you fit 5 people in the car?? LOL, when my friends try to pile into mine and there are more than 4 of us, we always make someone take the middle hump spot we have affectionately called "the rape seat". Many lulz ensue.
