Default Loose steering past 85+mph

I've always had a problem with my stock 2007 6'er where if I drive faster than 80-85mph my steering starts to feel loose and somewhat shaky, for lack of better terms.

I'm assuming this is some sort of nose lifting? what can I do about this to make it a little better?

If you feel a shake in the steering there's about a 99% chance you have a tire out of balance.

I suppose that would also cause the sensitivity too?

Your problem is the crappy soft stock V6 tires. I know EXACTLY what you mean. Feels like the front gets "light" and/or lifts up. My '05 did that as well.

When I got ahold of a set of GT take-off Pirelli take-offs, which are Z-rated, that feel went completely away. Was able to 'theoretically' easily do 125-ish w/o that feeling with different tires

should have thought about that. I'm swapping my wheels before my engine swap so looks like I can finally get rid of this!

thanks for the help!

...kidding.
But about 90% of my driving is on a highway where the speed limit is 70, so naturally I drive about 75. It's not too hard to creep up around 80-85 to overtake, or any number of other reasons.

We have numerous 75 speed limit roads now, so 80+ is practically the norm.
Still, the first time I encountered that front-end loose feeling was when doing 95 on some loop around some city in Mississippi, just going with a couple other cars in front of me going that fast.

God I know that feeling. Scared the **** out of me. When my stock pirellis started to die I took it up to 100 on a flat back road, thought I was gonna fly away with all that float. The Eagle GTs have really helped fix this though.
