7.5 Rear End Mods
The 8.8 is a direct swap, no difference in mounting and no difference in control arms between a 7.5 and 8.8 - your guy is wrong or doesn't understand that the ONLY difference is the differential housing is larger but all the mounting points are exactly the same.
But, upgrading the control arms isn't a bad idea anyway. The stock control arms are set up to soften the ride and reduce noise - so that means that they will flex a lot more than aftermarket control arms.

But to the OP, that is a minor part. And if you can snag a 2011+ rear end the pinion flange doesn't even have to be changed (at least that was what we found on the last one I sent to someone else).
The 8.8 can be a tricky thing to find and the 7.5 tlok is an inexpensive temporary solution however that 750 you paid for the set upand then a few years down the road when you ha e to replace it with another rear end costing another 750 = the cost of a single 8.8 and less down time
How much do you think you will want for it? And does anyone know where I can find an 8.8 out of an '11-'12 V6?
Hey Jim,
Sombody said you had trouble with your 7.5" rear, I have another post going on this topic over here...

I'd like you to respond to it if you can. Trying to find out if you have a 3.7L and if you did your pushing way more power than I plan to. Is my 7.5 likely to survive? I'm not taking her to the drag strip and won't use mickeys or anything.
Thanks,
Tom

What about the auburn? I also want an 8.8, But haven't had a lot of luck finding one locally, out of a mustang anyway. Plenty of explorer rear ends but no mustangs.

And no damage will occur with proper install.
Read the horror stories here on the forum before you
or install them or Mr. Yahoo install them for you...
Just posted a reply on your thread - and it wasn't my 2013 where I broke the rear end. It was on the 2006, and it had well under 300 RWHP. If you aren't planning to race the car, and only using it on the street you may be fine - but if you are pushing a lot of RWHP and pushing the car at all, just get the 8.8. You will be money ahead doing that swap rather than trying to build - and then break - the 7.5.
