8.8 install problem

Default 8.8 install problem

So I bought a 8.8 to change out in my 2006 vert but having trouble mounting cuz the stock one has only one bushing at the top of the pumpkin and the one I bought has 2

Am I going crazy or am I missing somethin I'm totally lost here I can't find anything on google abou it either

Please help need some experienced help here

Did you get the required Cobra Pinion flange? It is necessary in order to get the 8.8" axle to fit.

Yes I did but that's not my problem here it's the bushings on the top of the pumpkin

You bought the wrong housing - the one you got is for a 2004 or earlier. They had 4 link suspension. 05 and up have 3 link.

Unfortunately yes. You need the newer housing with the single bushing on top of the pumpkin.

You might as well just get a whole GT rear end. All GT's have the 8.8 traction-lok. Like Antonio said, the pinion flange is different on GT's and V6's though. For used, try junkyards - for new, try www.newtakeoff.com, ebay, etc. There is a sweet Shelby/Boss 302 complete assembly available also with 3.73's (I am running it on my car) on www.americanmuscle.com. But it is pricey.

My used 8.8 is available but shipping to texas would cost a mint.
