Mustangs are some of the cheapest cars to modify. They are also some of the easiest.

There are more parts and a larger knowledge base for the Mustang than any other car in the United States.

Start with a tune, that seems to the best and easiest way to make a difference. CAI and exhaust would come next. American Muscle is a good place to get started, they don't have it all, but they have enough of it to give you an idea of what you can do and what the costs will be. Look to the right of the thread and you will see a link for them.

The best idea is to spend a little time looking at all of the options. Get a grasp on your budget and what you want to do. Visual? Power? Handling?

With a Mustang the sky is the limit and it is only held in check by your wallet.

What is your goal? Performance? Aesthetics?

By your post it would sound like going FI is not going to happen. So for performance, your biggest bang-for-the-buck is a CAI & custom tune (roughly $600; check out the American Muscle and Brenspeed websites) for about 15-20 RWHP gain, real world, on the 4.0L. Gears are also a popular mod. However, gears don't add power but will make you quicker at the cost of some minor fuel economy.

As far as looks, there are way too many choices to even BEGIN to list.

And welcome to the forum!

Congrats and welcome!
See my mods listed below in my signature.
Best performance mod is a handheld tuner/custom tunes and a CAI!
American Muscle and Brenspeed are very reputable companies that offer excellent custom tunes.
