WRECK
This really sucks, I was just in an accident earlier today and it was totally my fault. I rear-ended this old toyota truck and it wiped out my driver side headlight, by blinder part of my bumper, some of my grill, and wheel well is pushed back against my tire, I cant even drive it. My fender above my driver side wheel is bent, and my hood is bent. This sucks.
So now I can either put all of this damage on my already high insurance since I am 19, or have them fix it to just driveable and get new aftermarket parts on my own. I will just have to see how much its going to cost to completely fix it and how much to just driveable. Then I will see the difference and see how much money I could save buying the parts on my own. So I just have to wait until tomorrow. [:@]

Sorry to hear this, is this guy and his "old toyata truck" going to file a claim against your insurance? Expect your ratest to go up. As far as fixing your car up, if your expectin him to raise your rates by filing a claim, then go ahead and have your insurance pay for it. :| I'm not an expert, but you'll have to way your options.
ya, if he files a claim against you (if he has insurance, he will), your insurance will probably go up. If he didn't have insurance and he wants to keep things off the books, I would definatly look into buying my own parts or taking it to a shop. It sounds like you are going to need a lot of work done though. Make sure it is just body parts that are damaged, if the dealer notices damage, they may not honor the warranty on your car. Also, the wreck will go on the car's history and effect the resale value. [sm=signs003.gif]
Ya hopefully it wont go up that much, hopefully he wont file it on his insurance. Would it make his insurance go up? Its not much damage because I hit right at his bumper level. He has a broken tail light and a dent the side of his back passenger side. So hopefully he is cool.

If the other guy does file a claim with his insurance agency, yes, his insurance will go up, too. Insurance companies will make any excuse to jack up your premiums- you're just a bunch of numbers, equations, etc. called risk assessment. I avoided talking to my insurance co. about Walmart denting up my mustang, because I knew they'd take it as reason enough to mess with my rates. Even though I wasn't even 20 miles of my car..
Anyway, you didn't get anything from the guy you hit? As in, he wasn't yelling and screaming when he came out? Was he asian? White? Or black? Young? Old? Anything that'd hint at what he may or may not do?
Wow MHShockey30...
Sorry to hear your loss.
I accidently left one of the drawers open on my tool box and nailed it with my fender skirt pulling into my garage.. and THAT made me cry for a week. I can't imagine how your fealing.
Insurance... bite the bullit dude. the odds ARE the Toyota will file a claim, if nothing else, to get the cash. So you might as well file one too.
Was there a Police report? If so, there is a very good chance your Insurance Company will find out anyway. They do random regular checks on their risk clients - and YES... being age 19 you ARE one of their risk clients.

The guy was actually pretty cool when he came up to me, he was an older white male about early 40's. He pretty much explained everything to me since this was my first wreck. The police were called but not by either one of us. They did do a report. The guy I hit just got an estimate on his damage and he said it was $2500. I can only imgaine if his was $2500 what mine is going to be. I could guess somewhere around $6000 to $8000, which sucks.
I will find out later today how much mine is going to cost. The guy said I can get any replacement parts I want, however I would have to pay the difference in the old and new parts. So im not exactly sure what im going to do yet, ill keep ya posted.

I just got the estimate from the dealership and its gonna be $4400 for my repairs. They haven't taken it all apart yet but there could be some other stuff that needs repair that they cant see from the outside, but hopefully everything else is ok.
