Tires (Wheels?) on a 2005?
I just picked up a garage queen '05 V-6 5sp convertible with 24K on the clock. It's got some crappy Goodyear touring skins on it. From what I'm seeing there isn't a lot of OEM 215/65/16 tires out there. My wheels are in pretty good shape for being 17 yrs old. So far I've found some Kumho Ecsta PA31 in 235/60/16 which will fit and give me a little more tread than the stock 215/65/16 that are on it. I've shopped Am Muscle and for $1000-$1500 I can get some Bullets with, what I consider, good rubber ( B.F. Goodrich/Pirelli). The Kumho's are under $500 and I can mount and balance myself. What do you guys think/ what have you done?.................the Mailman
I'm a big fan of the factory 17" 5-spoke wheels that came on the GT's and V6 Pony Package cars. You can find them for nothing on CL, and the factory 235/55R17 tires look great on them. Sellers on CL usually have tires on them already, but I really like the General Gmax AS-05's. Best handling "feel" of any tire I've owned.
