Default Shift *****?

I bought a new 05 V-6 manual shift convertible a few weeks ago and love the car. The only thing I must change right now is the stock shift ****. I've found a few on the internet that say they fit the 05's, but wanted to ask if anyone has purchased an aftermarket shift **** and if so, which one and do you like it? Pictures and/or links would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

Really? I thought it would have been the same as the 99+ with the exception that they changed the thread size.

keep turning it... it will come off eventually but... as u spin it, make sure u put the boot back so it doesnt get tangled and twisted which might destroy the leather boot... The **** seems to also be attached to the boot and i dont know how 2 get it off of it myself... i had 2 take that stuff out when i put my p.i.e ipod adapter in..

So you're saying the shift **** and boot must be removed together. If that's the case, any suggestions on replacement boots? Also, for those that actually already changed the shift ****, which one did you get?

There seem to only be a handful that fit the 05 & 06's. Such as Roush and Steada. Any comments from those that have already switched would be appreciated.

The **** and boot are seperate pieces. At the top of the boot, there is a ring under the leather. I think it is rubber. Anyway, when you have the boot and **** out push down on the top of the boot. Do this while holding the shift **** in the palm of your hand. It seperates farily easily.
