Default Zex Nitrious kit

I have some questions about the Zex kit. I am new to this type of HP never run nitrious before. Any info is good. I was thinking of a supercharger but i here alot of good things about this kit from you guy's. What kind of HP gains? How hard to install? How much for the kit for our 6er? I already have a XCAL2 do i need to retune the car or can i run this on a standard tune? What type of damage will this cause on a stock motor and how much can i use it? Growing up building cars i use to here alot of problem's with nitrious blowing head gasket's and burning stock ring's. Thanks

The kit comes with 75 and 175 hp jets. It says about a 2 hr. install so I cant imagine it would be that hard. They dont have a specific kit for the V6 but the one for the GT fits perfectly. I got mine for $550. I heard that you would need to turn your timing back to stock, so you would need a new tune. If you go with the 75 hp jets, your engine would be fine. Any higher I would expect you would need some work done to handle it. Scrming has ZEX and he is running 100 hp jets I believe and no problems that I know of.

My car loves the 100HP shot! WOOHOO!!! LOL!

1st the install... 2 hours is very optimistic... very! The instructions are not all that clear... As mentioned get the GT kit. Only difference is the TPS on the GT is on the passenger side of the TB while the V6 TPS is on the drivers side... Install wasn't hard.. just very time consuming... Lay everything out and figure out where you want to put everything before you start...

2nd the tune... To run Nitrous you will need a special tune. For the 75HP shot (which is where you should start) you need to have the timing put back to completely stock. You still get the benefit of other things in the tune, but the timing needs to be returned to factory. If/When you move to the 100HP jets you need to remove and extra 2 degrees of timing (globally).

I've got over 30 passes at the track with my Zex and well over a dozen dyno pulls... So far no problems. The key is to take it slow and don't get greedy... I would also HIGHLY recommend you get the car on a dyno and have them monitor your A/F when you spray... The first time I ever sprayed was on the dyno... I'm not afraid of my Zex but I am cautious...

So far I've had zero problems... The Zex kit has peformed beautifully...

Thanks for all the info. I live in Micigan and i have heard of Alternative Auto and i was told to talk to Lidio. I was wondering if he installs these kits, and could retune the XCAL2 that i have.

Absolutely! He has a lot of nitrous experience and has installed the Zex kit in our V6's... As a matter of fact there was one there for an install when I was there... And yes he can put a nitrous tune on your X-Cal2... Give him a call... 586.463.0010.... He's over in Mt. Clemens...

I live on the west side over by Milford. I was thinking of doing this in the spring because the car is put away for winter so i will call him as soon as the weather breaks. Did he install yours? If so do you have a ball park install cost?

Used to live in Novi... Kid's when to South Lyon schools... Up in Saginaw now..

I had a guy from work help me to the install... I had Lidio do the tuning... Sorry don't know what he charges for the install... the instructions say 2 hours but it really takes more than that to do it right... LOL
