Default L.A. engine and/or body-paint

Hi,

New to the forum and have been out of the Mustang scene for awhile due to life getting in the way of fun. I've owned a '65 GT coupe, '85 GT convt., two 92 GT's, and a '98 GT.

I just pulled my '65 fastback 2+2 out of storage after 6 years and am ready to finish what I started.

The body is straight and rust-free but I want a good shop that can do a good job with all the prep and paint.

Also, I'd like to have the 351W "de-tuned" a bit to make it more street friendly. I want to replace the custom-grind solid lifter cam with a milder hydraulic lifter cam. Also, I'd probably have to have the valve springs changed(?) accordingly and maybe even remove the girdle(?) on top of the rocker arms on the aluminum heads.

Basically, I need two good shops that I can drop off the engine/vehicle at and pick up a finished product. I have 3 little ones under 5 years old with another (last, LOL) due in a few months so I just don't have the time to do this stuff myself anymore []. That said, I will complete the interior and the exterior assembly myself after painting. I'm in the South Bay if that helps with any recommendations.

TIA!

Hi theres a really good shop that has a mechanic and body repair together in downey for a reasonable price. I trust them 100% I take all my cars there and recommended them to many ppl and never had any complains.
Im not sure if this is too close for you but thier number is (562) 803-6633 you can ask for frank, he is the mechanic and carlos is the one in charge of the body work. The place is call J&J.
Maybe if you tell them that Carlo with the black mustang send you, they might give you a better price.
If you have any more questions just ask or pm me!!
