UDP's and overheating/ac problems?

UDP's and overheating/ac problems?
Anyone in the hotter parts out west installed UDP's? Any problems with overheating in the summer or the a/c not pumping out cold enough? I'm thinking about putting some on but don't want to make the 'heat soak' problem any worse...
