Default GT wheels on a V-6

Hi everybody, I a new user to this site. I have a question. I have a stock 2000 Mustang V-6 5-Speed, It has the 15 inch factory wheels on it. I have just bought a set of 04 GT Takeoffs 17-8 bullit wheels. I know my ride height will raise some. I have read that the factory put 245/45/17 on these wheels. I would like to keep my mustang as low as possible. So my questions is what size tires would work and keep the ride height looking the best? I was thinking of having slightly taller tires out back to give it that raking effect? So, Any suggestions? Thanks alot

I, personally, wouldnt rake it. If you are the proud owner of a mullet, go for it

That tire size should be fine, it wont look bad with a little taller ride height. You'll hardly notice it. You might want a flash tuner so you can at least reset your tach/speedo though.

Where can I get a flash tuner? I looked up the difference on the internet, a "speed tire size calculator" between my current tire size and the 245-45-17 and it said about a 1 mph difference. I don't know if that's accurate though. I thought it might look good a little lower in the front? Thanks

99% of the sponsors at the top of the forums sell a Predator or SCT flash tuner for oyur buzzin' dozen, but try www.americanmuscle.com or maybe www.autobadges.com , teh first will have it no doubt, not sure aboot the second. I wouldnt get bigger rear tires to rake teh car, but instead, to have some fat meats in the back

i HIGHLY doubt ur right height will change....stock the sixer,i believe, have 205/60 or 65/15 on them since the tires on the gt takeoffs are lower profile to make up for the increased rim size. so it should still have the same overall diameter

it looks sooo much better when its a little raked. if its just flat sraight across the ground i thin it looks dumb. i love the look of my roush springs...i just took out the front isolators too and it helped even more but it dropped it 1.5 in the front and only .8 in the back. it looks mean as hell when its a little higher in the back.

i need to wash my car then i can probably get some pics. i have to find somewhere flat to take a few pics instead of a stupid slanted driveway. it looks a million times better on a flat surface. i should have it washed within a few days then ill try to get a few pics. ill make a new thread for anyone who wants to see what roush springs look like.
