Default help with tire size for 14x7

i might be buying a set of magnum 500's that come with 215/70/14. i think that they might be too large for my 66. what size would look the best? my car is lowered about an inch in the front.

I think 195/70 comes pretty close to the dimensions of the original bias-ply tires, so I think you want a tire that's closer to 25" tall. That's what I went with on my daughter's '66. People seem to be able to fit 225-width tires, and in any event you should check wheel offset (or backspacing). For 14 x 7 wheels and some apparent lowering, I think 225/60-14 at about 24.7" tall would be your best bet, at least diameter-wise. 7" is just a little too wide for 195's.
