Default Tire Size, HELP!

I have a 2000 Mustang GT and I just bought a set of white bullitt wheels for the stang. 17 x 9 in the front and deep dish 17 x 10.5 for the back. My problem is that I dont want to spend a lot of money for tires right now. I actually just bought new michelen pilots for my previous wheels tire size on them were 245/40-17, i was wondering if 2 of those tireswill fit on the front new wheels 17 x 9. I know I have to buy newtires for the back but I am trying to save as much money as I can. The recommended size for the 17 x 9 was 275/40-17 and for the 17 x 10.5 was 315/35-17. Also does anyone know what is the smallest size I can go with on both tires sizes. All input would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Im not sure how you got those recommended tire sizes but for the front i would use your pilot sports and for the rear get another direction tire such as a bfg because they are priced good for the traction they supply and on a 10.5" wheel i wouldnt go smaller than a 255 40 17

I wouldnt go smaller than a 275/40/17 on a 10.5" wheel. even then it will look retarded.

your are better off just saving a little more money and doing the tires right the first time.
put your current, good tires up for sale on Craigslist.org

I have 275's on my 10.5" rims right not and they are flush with the outside of the wheel. So yes I agree with addermk2 in the sense that you should save up for a wider tire how ever the smallest you can go on a 10.5" wheel would be a 255.
