OK, this is the first time I've done this, so bear with me.
I'm a 52 yr. old married man, 2 kids-26 yr. old son (who owns an '03 GT) and 21 yr. old daughter - haven't gotten her into the 'stang corral yet!
I currently own a torch red'05 GT bought used with 1,600 miles. It's had a JLT cold air kit, SCT tune and JBA axle-backs added, along with rear window louvers, Cervini's Mach I style chin spoiler, blacked out rear wing and Steeda-style hood treatment.
This forum stuff is new to me, and I'm somewhat computer challenged, so excuse me for being long winded and not a "texter!" Soooooo.....

Hi, folks!

Welcome to the boards! Youll learn alot here!
Kind of odd section to make your post without a tire or wheel question

Go for the 18's!

Welcome aboard. You'll find lots of help here, either in threads or through private messaging (PM). No excuses necessary (most text-message shortcuts just looklike bad spelling).

Nice to find out for sure that some interests don't fade away just because the AARP card came in the mail, eh?

And I may be able to help with any tire/wheel questions (18 does seem to be where you find most of the top-shelf street performance tires in sizes big enough for these cars).

Just back to the site - sorry it took so long! Like I said, I'm new to this and put the first post in the wrong place. Oh, well..............

Thanks for your answer, it's lookin' like the 18's will be it. Think I can get a 275 width on the rear wheels (8.5")?

Thanks Norm, ya sure know how to make a guy feel welcome[sm=imsmilin.gif]I had my heart set on a '72 red Mach I when I was 18 but the 'rents wouldn't co-sign! 32 yrs. later I finally get my 'stang!

Looks like these boards will be a real trove of info - thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!
Gotta go, time for my Geritol infusion[sm=alcoholic.gif]

For Norm Peterson:

Norm, will a 285 series tire fit on a 8.5" wide wheel? I'm thinking of 285/35 or 40 -18 on an 18x8.5" wheel for the rear of the '05 GT.

Neither one of those would fit (285/35/18 or 285/40/18) To run those you would need atleast a 9.5x18in wheel.
