Default Problem with Current wheel Size

My current tires are BF Goodrich G-force KDW. The tire are 275.40.17

Would that mean I have 17" wheels ? and also is there anyway you can tell the width ? I measured them and the tires ended up being 10" with 18" Wheels. But I was told they were 17s when I brought my mustang..

Any Help, before I sell them and buy new ones..

Thanks Alot

if your third number is 17 then you have 17 inch rims

You can also look up your tires via BFG website and will give you specifics of width and diameter based on a certain rim. A 275 is a good fit for a 10" wide wheel, but a 285 is better, IMO
