Provided the correct off-set of +18mm (can be +/- a bit), you will fit fine.

Head over to American Muscle and see the specs on 17"x9" wheels. I ran that size with 245/40's on a 2" drop for many a year and had zero issues.

According to American Muscle specs on the page I linked, that will be just fine. The 225's will give you a bit more room diameter wise, but the 45 series will be a bit larger around.

k i just got my 17 by 9 inch oe wheels and put them on my 1989 lx..they look really close but the car is sitting on jack stands so that may make a difference? now i'm stuck on what to buy for tires..

was thinking 225 45 17 all the way around but now may go 215 45 17's nto make it a tighter and better fit....the rims look awesome on the car, i may need to lift it,anyone out there have 17 by 9 on there car offset is 20mm as stated above
