Default Bought a Toyota Pickup...need help.

Hey guys, no pics for now, but I just purchased a 1994 2wd Toyota pickup. Its a 5spd, 109k original miles, needs paint help, but interior is nice and it runs perfect. Just a commuter rig for me. Anyhow, I need some help on wheels. Its got a set of 15" chrome wheels that have a pretty large offset. It shutters really bad at most all speeds. Les Schwab just balanced them this morning and they think the shuttering is due to the wheels not being hub centric and more so because they have a large or negative offset. I don't really understand offset, but they have a pretty large dish all the way around.

Should I look for some other wheels that will make the ride a lot smoother? Any help appreciated.

You really need to figure out why your truck has this issue prior to going after new parts. You may have worn ball-joints, bushings, tie-rods or something. High neg. off-set will not in itself create the issues you describe. You may have badly worn tires, but think tire shoppe would have recommended new ones in such a case.

I recommend you take it to another location for a second opinion on what is going on up front (assuming the issue is up front)

you might want to have them check your mounts. I had an 89 & it started to shutter really REALLY bad at any speed, ended up being a broken tranny mount.
