Winter Recommendation?
I bought my '09 in May of last year, finally received it shipped to Germany in Oct of '09. I should have expected it, but I didn't consider it when I bought it...the car did horrible in the winter! And it was bad last year. My Honda was out of service with a dead battery, bad bushings, and a busted alternator, so I couldn't use that car. My Mustang got stuck three times in the slush and less than a quarter inch of snow. Going at minimal speeds, the tires lost traction and I nearly crashed it against a guard rail, and then it lost control another time with the TCS kicking in and shutting off the power to the rear tires, nearly falling into a ditch. It was a horrible experience.
Now that my Honda is sold, all I have is the Stang for one more winter here in Germany, and it's bound to be a bad one. I researched the tire cost here at this local shop for two stock sized full winter tires priced at 152 euro (roughly 170-190 dollars depending on the rate).
The question: Since it's rear-wheel drive, I was just gonna get two tires and replace the back ones. I don't have storage space for two tires, let alone four, and I don't know where I'll be going next year or if I'll need winter tires again. Should I consider going ahead and getting four to make sure my car "stays" on the road? What type of tire would be best and should it be a size up? -like width wise to gain more traction? Also, I'm not sure if I have to buy the TPMS sensors when buying the tires (from tirerack) because the Ford Dealership here said all they do is reset it when they place the tires on (but, they're Germans, not Americans).

I have all season, though they're stock, and I've been told by a lot of people that all season aren't "all" season, and I tend to agree with the handling of the car in the winter time.
Thanks for replying and I'm going to check the local tire shop and see if they carry it - if not just order.
Thanks!
