Default some quick advice

I've done some research and I would like to get the nitto nt555 tires for my car. As it stands right now I have stock wheels and I just need a tire to last me until next year when I but my wheels. I can get the nittos for 133 a piece. Does anyone have a recommendation for a different tire that will offer decent grip at the drag strip for a stock 2005 gt that is cheaper. I'm willing to buy the nittos but since I'll be upgrading next year anyways I was thinking something comparable for less wouldn't hurt for now. Thanks

The 555 is really not a strip tire, as it is geared more toward lateral grip, than off the line If you are really looking to do well at the strip, my recommendation is to purchase a set of 15" wheels with some DR's for 1/4 mile days. This is obviously more expensive, but will allow you to avoid the compromise you need to take to do both street/strip well.

What say you?
