Dry rot question
Hey,
I picked up some BF Goodrich KDWs' and they have been sitting on a rack in my garage for a couple years. How long can a tire sit before dry rot becomes an issue? They still look ok but they are not on a vehicle under the weight pressure, so I'm not sure if that means anything. Do you guys think they will still be useable?

So long as they have not been exposed to serious moisture and weather, they should be fine. When I store my Summer tires/wheels, I let them down to about 18 PSI and put them in the storage shed. Now, this is not two years, but being uninstalled is ideal.
Take a close look at them and bend them around. Look for cracks or anything like that. If they look good, mount them up and go rip da corners already

Pretty much what Jazzer said is true.. Being that they had no load that helps a lot, just inspect them close for cracks and such. I really don't think there will be any problem after a couple years... If you're really worried, mount them on a rim, pressurize them and check for any leaks (soapy water)..
