Default Need help with Hankook R-S3 size

I am new to this forum as I have just purchased a 2007 Mustang GT. I am not new to HPDE events but will be running this mustang for the first time. I need tires and have decided to purchase Hankook R-S3's. I have been reading about staggered vs. square combinations HELP! I will also be getting new wheels 18 x 9.5 or 18 x 10 or combination. What R-S3 size would you guys recommend either square or staggered? My car is running Steeda springs and Koni yellows. 18" R-S3 sizes are 255/35, 265/35, 265/40, 275/35.

Thanks

Welcome to MF's

If you are looking to do HPDE's, my recommendation is to stick with the same size tire/wheel at all four corners. The Mustang will tend to push even more than it does, when rear grip exceeds the front. That being said, I would look to no more than a set of 265's or even 255's, for improved cornering performance.

I would also recommend you run over to the S197 Handling Performance section and run your thoughts by them. They are much better versed in your model year and will be able to fine-tune recommendations for you.

Thanks Jazzer that's just the input I need. I was thinking the 265/40's on all four corners was the way to go but I know very little about staggered setups. I will run this by the S197 handling group as you suggest. Thanks again.
