Default need tire help

My '07 GT convertible runs Goodyear P285/40ZR18 on the rear and 255/45ZR18 on the front. It's like driving a go cart, feels every little bump in the road. Can anyone suggest a tire that can provide a comfortable ride? I'm really not interested in a performance tire. Maybe even a shock suggestion.

Thanks to all

Contrary to popular opinion, sidewall height doesn't make much difference. ie switching to a 16" wheel won't help. It's really all about the tire construction. Take a look at Tirerack.com, and look for a tire with a high rating for "comfort". Their tire test "spider charts" are good for that. Generally, it's going to be an all-season touring tire. With just a quick look, the KUMHO MAJESTY 9 SOLUS TA91 seems to rate very well in ride quality and noise comfort.
