Hey fellas, I bought a set of used S550 wheels off a 2021 Mustang GT. After riding on them for a few days I noticed when I turn the wheel all the way left or right at low speeds (1-2 mph, pulling into my driveway or a parking spot), I'll hear a loud clunking noise. I never heard this with my factory wheels. The front wheels also appear to shift slightly when I jack the car up after driving the car for a while. Just feels and sounds like something isn't quite right.
The wheels are the same 19 inch, but are 9 inch with 255's in the front and 9.5/275's in the back instead of the old 8.5/245 GT/CS wheels. There's nothing rubbing or bumping as far as I can tell. I've torqued them to oem 100 lb/ft, tried over-torqueing them ~120 lb/ft, maybe it's a coincidence and my bearings went out around the same time?
Shouldn't be an issue. If I recall the way they center is slightly different but I previously worked for a large OEM aftermarket company and we regularly had customers running our S550 wheels on S197 cars.
