2009 SEMA Preview: The 2010 Steeda Q Series Mustang

By -

steeda 1.jpgThe folks at Steeda showed off the first edition of their take on the 2010 Ford Mustang in July with the debut of the Steeda Sport Edition Mustang.  That model featured underdrive pullies, a short throw shifter, a “performance air cleaner”, sport springs, and a variety of dress up items to help it stand out from the factory produced 2010 Mustangs.  The upgrades, with an MSRP of $6,995, give someone just a glimpse of what Steeda has developed with their racing program for the last twenty years, and all of that experience has been combined to create the new 2010 Steeda Q Series Mustang.

These images are the only current looks at the Q Series Mustang, and
the only real information that has been given is the release date;
November 3, 2010 at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.  I will be there to
bring you a good look at the 2010 Steeda Q Series, including pictures
and full specifications, but for the time being Steeda is only teasing
us – leaving us to speculate what to expect from the Q Series.

In their press release (below), Steeda comments that there has been
extensive testing of the 2010 Q Series Mustang, so that would lead me
to believe that we won’t be seeing a Coyote 5.0 under the hood just
yet, but rather a heavily modified 4.6L, 3V engine.  The odds are
better than not that the Q Series will feature forced induction,
offering big power to make this a race ready road car.  Also, based on
past Steeda models, we can expect an impressive spread of suspension
goodies, furthering the Q’s track ready capabilities. steeda 2.jpg

For the time being, all we have to go on is Steeda’s history with the
Mustang, and these two pictures supplied by the good people at Steeda,
but with SEMA less than a month away, we will soon find out what
exactly the 2010 Steeda Q Series Mustang has in store for the
performance world.

The Full Press Release From Steeda.

A few months ago we teased you with a disguised “sneak peak” of our
latest high performance Mustang – now, in advance of it’s upcoming
official debut in a few short weeks, we are pulling the wraps off and
are releasing a much more revealing image of the newest, meanest, and
best styled Steeda Mustang to ever rip the asphalt: The 2010 Steeda Q
Mustang Series!

With an arresting exterior appearance, that includes an aggressive
front air dam that incorporates ample cooling airflow while improving
aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle. This new Q-Series, the result of
ongoing intense development and refinement, is guaranteed to continue
Steeda Autosport’s traditions of winning both on and off the racetracks.

With hundreds of hours of Computer Aided Design work completed, and
extensive computer and wind tunnel analysis completed, as well as
vigorous road coarse testing done in secret to avoid the prying eyes of
spy photographers, we are confident that we have evoked the next
evolution of our halo performance series that is completely without
compromise today.

The development of this vehicle series is yet another example how the
entire Team at Steeda Autosports takes great pride in designing,
engineering, and manufacturing our products with the single goal of
providing our discerning customers with the highest quality, race
proven and track tested vehicles/components available anywhere.

“Simply put – no other car has won more races and set more records in
production based classes than the Steeda Q Series of high performance
Mustangs and I am confident that our 2010 version will carry on that
same Steeda tradition” commented Dario Orlando, the founder of Steeda
Autosports, “In all of our Q-Series of high performance Mustangs, we
never compromise or take shortcuts, our customers who demand maximum
performance, bullet-proof reliability, and class leading race honed
styling wouldn’t have it any other way!”

This latest evolution of the limited production Q-Series Mustang series
will have it’s official public debut at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las
Vegas, Nevada on November 3, 2009. Follow future Press releases for
complete details about its official reveal – you will not want to miss
it!
