It looks like 53 2015 Mustangs are getting recalled before hitting dealer lots. It has to do with the seat belt buckle assembly and the tension sensor. That tension sensor may not have been calibrated at the supplier, according to Ford.

“A buckle tension sensor that is not calibrated may result in misclassification of the front passenger seat occupant, which is a noncompliance issue with FMVSS 208. This issue may lead to improper passenger airbag deployment for the occupant, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash.”

Affected Mustangs were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant from August 18th to October 2nd 2014. Fifty of those Mustangs are here in the U.S. and federalized territories, while three are in Canada. We’d ask for details of your recall experience, but, uh, we’re pretty sure you guys don’t have a 2015 yet. Right?
