The 2017 Shelby Mustang GTE Delivers Affordable Performance

Modern American muscle cars follow the footsteps of their predecessors, by offering excellent performance and reliability, at a much more affordable price than the Europeans. The new 2017 Shelby Mustang GTE by Shelby American isn’t the exception.

While at the Mustang Club of America’s celebration at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Shelby American leveraged more than 50 years of passion and performance to build this affordable high-performance Mustang based on the GT-H model.

“From the Ferrari-beating Shelby Cobra to the 1965 Shelby G.T.350, Shelby American has always delivered world-class performance at a great value for everyone, not just the one percenters,” said Joe Conway, Co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International and CEO of Shelby American. “Our newest cars are cast from that same mold, delivering affordable excitement for everyone. When the public begged for a version of the Ford Shelby GT-H rental car that they could own, we applied the winning formula from the Hertz program to the Mustang. Working with our friends at Ford Performance, we created an affordable car that delivers full-throttle excitement and remarkable styling.”

The world-famous performance company has manufactured performance enhancements for both, the iconic 5.0 liter V8 engine that pumps out 456 horsepower, or the robust 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine with 335 horsepower. Other enhancements include cat-back exhaust, handling pack, and 19-inch wheels.

According to Shelby American, the GTE is available immediately at authorized North American mod-shops, and will be assembled at their state-of-the-art assembly facility in Las Vegas. Needless to say, every Shelby GTE will be included in the official company vehicle registry.
